Workshare today announced that its secure file sharing and comparison application, Professional 8, was named a finalist in the 2014 Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODiE Awards for Best Legal Information Solution. This is the second consecutive year that Workshare has been recognized as a finalist by the prestigious CODiE awards, solidifying its position as one of the top legal technologies in the software and information industry.

Today more than 1.8 million users and 16,000 companies use Workshare's file sharing and collaboration applications. The company is empowering legal professionals to work where and how they want to with Professional 8, which offers a simple and controlled way to collaborate on documents. The application enables secure file sharing from anywhere with security measures including end-to-end encryption, metadata cleaning and policy control to meet the strict compliance mandates associated with highly regulated markets. The new Interactive Protect feature automatically scans for and removes sensitive data within documents, providing a seamless experience for users while also meeting IT demands for data security and privacy.

"Today's legal workforce is evolving and they need simple and intuitive applications that will enable them to work and collaborate any time, from anywhere," said Anthony Foy, CEO at Workshare. "We are privileged to be recognized by the CODiE Awards for our innovative technology, which is helping to reinvent the way professionals work and supports the rising need for secure mobile working."

The SIIA CODiE Awards are the industry's only peer-reviewed awards program. The first round review of all nominees is conducted by media, publishing, and information services executives with considerable industry expertise, including members of the industry, analysts, media and bloggers, and bankers and investors. The judges are responsible for selecting the CODiE Awards finalists. SIIA members then vote on the finalist products and the scores from both rounds are tabulated to select the winners. Winners will be announced on January 30th.
