Winners of Idol Smiles Contest Announced
Three Teens to Be Public Face of Orthodontic Practice, Northeast Orthodontic Associates
Online, December 6, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The final tally of Idol Smiles, a community-based contest sponsored by Northeast Orthodontic Associates, has propelled three local students and patients into the spotlight. Kali Cucharale, Samantha Cimilluca, and Jeremy Raymo are the winners of Northeast Orthodontics' 2014 Idol Smiles contest and will serve as 'smile ambassadors' and be prominently featured on the orthodontic practice's website, print ads, posters and other marketing materials throughout the year. A professional photographer will take shots of the trio during a photo shoot to take place on December 7 which is open to the press.
The winners will receive additional perks such as $100 gift cards and professional prints of their photos from the shoot. They will also enjoy the recognition of their friends and peers throughout the community. This desire for positive recognition is one reason the contest is gaining in popularity.
"People may think that as an orthodontist I fix smiles, but what I really do is create confidence," said Dr. Susan Park, the owner of Northeast Orthodontic Associates. "The Idol Smiles contest welcomes three young people into the public eye for the very first time in their lives. It's another way for them to gain confidence as they go along their path to adulthood."
As part of the entry phase of the Idol Smiles contest, any existing or former patient of Northeast Orthodontic Associates was welcome to enter the contest by submitting a digital photo earlier this year. Following the entry period, all contestants' photos were placed on the practice website for an online voting period of 12 weeks. Voting was open to the entire community. Contestants typically encouraged their friends, family members, and neighbors to vote for them.
Dr. Park added that the popularity of the Idol Smiles contest has led her to make it an annual event. Northeast Orthodontic Associates held the first Idol Smiles contest two years ago, and each year the contest fields more contestants, more votes, and more interest from the community in general.
