Wells Fargo has committed to be the presenting sponsor of the inaugural Stamford Harbor Live music festival, which is scheduled for May 28 at the northwest end of the harbor channel.

"This event will serve as a venue where families and friends can make lasting memories while listening to fabulous music, eating delicious food and kicking off the summer season," said Anna Damiano, Wells Fargo's Suburban New York and Connecticut community banking president. "We are thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of what promises to be the area's newest annual tradition."

An audience of over 1,000 on land and water is expected to attend the event, which will include hundreds of boaters from the New England Coast and the North Shore of Long Island. A barge, placed in the center of Stamford Harbor will serve as a stage for the afternoon performances of six bands - Chasing Something Better, Frank Enea Band, Fingersleeve, The Kovac Brothers Acoustic, The Jaws and Steve Smith and the Nakeds. Additionally, those on land will have access to boardwalks on both sides of the harbor where they will be able to watch the show and visit vendors.

"Wells Fargo is committed to ensuring that our children receive the best education opportunities possible," said James Moran, Connecticut area sales manager, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. "Therefore, we salute the organizers of Harbor Live for donating a portion of the proceeds towards Young Mariners, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the academic and life skills achievement of low income students."

Wells Fargo has a long history of sponsoring events that assists communities to succeed financially. And, that's definitely the case here. "There will be a major additional economic benefit for the area because the over thousand people coming to Harbor Live will also patronize our local businesses," said Vicky Papson, senior mortgage consultant, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. "This will provide a boost to the local economy at a time when Stamford's BLT Harbor Point project is poised to revitalize and transform our waterfront area into a bustling residential, commercial, retail and recreation center including the much anticipated Fairway Market."

Wells Fargo's sponsorship is a component of its brand roll-out in the region. "This is an exciting year for Wells Fargo as we continue to introduce the company to Connecticut," said Jeff Taylor, Wells Fargo's community banking district manager. "It is especially exciting that we can celebrate our arrival at an event as huge as Stamford Harbor Live is expected to be."
