Vehicles Involved In A Collision To Automatically Alert Incident Managers

• ISG Sense Represents 'The Future Of Incident Management' • Unrivalled Efficiency Will Save Customers Time And Money

A ground-breaking service that enables a vehicle to automatically alert incident managers when it is involved in a collision has been announced by Incident Support Group (ISG).

The system, which uses impact sensors, telematics and black box technology, will directly contact ISG and other interested parties when the vehicle to which it is fitted is subject to an impact. This allows ISG to contact the driver, the authorities and, if necessary, the emergency services.

In addition to providing a rapid response to a potentially serious situation, ISG Sense will reduce costs. Because ISG contacts the driver as soon as the incident has taken place, details can be captured and the appropriate courses of action are taken immediately.

Gareth Wakefield, managing director of ISG, said, "We see ISG Sense as the future of vehicle incident management. The speed of reporting ticks many of the boxes to comply with Ministry of Justice reforms and cost reduction.

"By being proactive we allow an insurer to contact any non-fault parties quickly and efficiently, reducing the claim costs that might be incurred by the insurer. Self-insured fleets also benefit from this proactive approach. The speedy response also reduces costs for recovery and storage of vehicles."

In addition, ISG Sense allows a fleet operator to measure fuel consumption, excess speed and driver behaviour to help reduce overall fleet costs.

Incident Support Group is working with Simplytrak (www.simplytrak.co.uk), one of Europe's largest and best-established tracking technologies, and distributed solely by Blackbox Telematics in the UK. They are the exclusive technology providers for ISG Sense.
