Ultralife® Introduces Vehicle Installed Power Enhanced Rifleman (VIPER) Radio Adapter for the AN/PRC-154 Rifleman Radio

Ultralife Corporation releases new VIPER vehicle adapter for the AN/PRC-154 Rifleman radio.

Ultralife Corporation's Communications Systems division this week introduced their new VIPER (Vehicle Installed Power Enhanced Rifleman) adapter for the AN/PRC-154 Rifleman radio.

The VIPER brings the widely-fielded AN/PRC-154 into the vehicle for mounted use. The VIPER integrates Ultralife's popular A-320 20 watt amplifier technology for use in military vehicles. The VIPER effectively increases the range of the Rifleman radio and assures battlefield connectivity by increasing the radio's network link margin.

Once installed, the AN/PRC-154 radio can be mounted in and removed from VIPER with one hand, making it ideal for "jerk-and-run" situations when soldiers will be rapidly mounting and dismounting vehicles; requiring quick access to the AN/PRC-154 Rifleman radio.

Ultralife co-developed the VIPER with Thales, Inc. and the VIPER fully supports Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW). The VIPER features integrated USB and standard Ethernet connectivity, and a small form-factor: 3.5 inches wide x 5 inches high x 11 inches long. The VIPER also meets MIL-STD 810 environmental and MIL-STD 461 EMI standards.
