New York (I-Newswire) July 8, 2012 - This summer, Truffle Theatre Co. from Brooklyn is presenting Nicki Gallo's one woman show "GR8 in 98" on July 27th, 28th and 29th at the Duplex Theater in Greenwich Village. "GR8 in 98" is the story of Stephanie, a 14 year old about to graduate from eighth grade - when Leo really was "King of the World." As she journeys through the summer before high school, she's dealing with crushes, first kisses and learning what her idea of love is all about. In this solo show, already a hit at Toronto's Second City this past spring, comedienne Nicki Gallo lives out the words of Britney Spears: "Not a girl, not yet a woman."
"GR8 in 98" is written and performed by comedienne Nicki Gallo and directed by Stephen M. Hood at the Duplex Theatre. A native of Canada, Ms. Gallo is a veteran of Toronto's Second City where the show was first performed at the John Candy Box Theatre. She has performed alongside award winning comedians at "The Full Bawdy Comedy show" at the Underground Comedy Club as well as a performing in the Toronto Fringe Festival show "Camp Schecky." In 2011 Ms. Gallo played Belle in Swoon! which was the winner of NOW Magazine's 2011 Fringe Outstanding New Play, Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble and Patron's Pick.
