The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation Announces 2014 Louie Scholars

33 outstanding students receive scholarships and hail from all over the United States

The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation announced today that it has granted scholarships totaling $100,000 to 33 outstanding high school seniors throughout the United States. This year, the Foundation received over 600 applications from high school seniors all over the United States. Applicants included valedictorians, student leaders, outstanding athletes, students who have overcome extraordinary adversity, and children of United States veterans. Choosing scholarship recipients this year was very difficult as there were so many outstanding applicants.

"We believe each of our 2014 Louie Scholars represents someone who has already accomplished much at a young age and further demonstrates immense potential to continue to make a significant impact in their communities and the world at large. As in past years, our 2014 Louie Scholars come from diverse backgrounds and economic circumstances, and hail from all over the country," said Betty B. Louie, The Kim and Harold Louie Family Foundation's Founder and Chair of the Board of Directors. "Our scholars are chosen for their outstanding academic record, demonstrated accomplishments, community service and financial need. Extra consideration was given to the children of United States veterans and students with special needs."
