Tetherow Lodge Ground Breaking Ushers Emergence of Premium Accommodation in Central Oregon
A groundbreaking ceremony on April 8, 2013 marked the rise of Tetherow Lodge, luxury accommodations soon to serve Bend, Central Oregon's golf community.
Online, April 22, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Velocity Capital BV, in partnership with Joe Weston, broke ground on April 8, 2013, to mark the start of the construction of Tetherow Lodge in Bend, Oregon. The joint project of the Netherland-based investment firm and Tetherow Golf Club Owner, and a Portland-based developer and resort partner, respectively, is slated to open in the spring of 2014.
Soon to offer high-end lodging services, Tetherow Lodge flanks the Tetherow Golf Club clubhouse. Fifty rooms on two buildings spanning across a 41,000 square-foot space will be overlooking the David McLay Kidd championship golf course and westward toward the nearby Cascade Mountains.
Tetherow Lodge will have the graceful blend of modern and traditional design, to be accomplished by Bend's leading architect Darren Thomas, principal of Darren Thomas Architecture + Design LLC, in partnership with Ankrom Moisan Architects. Sunwest Builders, of Bend, is the project's general contractor.
General Manager and Managing Partner Chris van der Velde sums up what Tetherow Lodge will have to offer: "It will be the base camp for all that Central Oregon has to offer, where distinctive experience will be in sync with the unique flavor of Tetherow and the region in general. We can't wait to welcome our first guests." he says.
Tetherow Lodge guests will get special access to golf opportunities at Tetherow Golf Club and other premier Central Oregon courses. Van der Velde reveals that concierge services are also in the works, which will cater to mountaineers, road cyclists and skiers. Casual and fine dining will be available at the adjacent clubhouse - in addition to all the easily accessible the dining and shopping options in Bend.
Tetherow Lodge is expected to reinforce the already resurging sales of individual lots and home constructions in the resort. In 2012, lot sales grew by 200% with 14 new single-family homes currently under construction and 9 more in the design review process. Tetherow Lodge is the next big project to look forward to, following the opening of Tetherow Academy, a state-of-the-art, year-round golf training program housed in a dedicated facility adjacent to the course's driving range and clubhouse.
