Strategicon's Orccon 2013 Invades Over Presidents' Day Weekend!

UK Game Design Legend Richard Breese Named Guest Of Honor

LOS ANGELES, CA (I-Newswire) February 6, 2013 - Strategicon's Orccon, the largest gaming convention in southern California, will be held February 15-18, 2013 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel near the Los Angeles International Airport.

Worlds collide in this year's Orccon lineup. Guest of Honor Richard Breese, founder of R&D games, is best known for his Key series of nonviolent medieval-themed tabletop games such as Keydom (widely regarded as the first worker placement game) and Keyflower. Other special guests will include Justin and Anne-Marie De Witt of Austin-based Fireside Games, creators of Castle Panic and Bears!.

Role-playing is alive and well, with over 140 fantastic events scheduled, ranging from Savage Worlds to GURPS and spanning diverse universes from Marvel to Star Trek. On the Warhammer front, the Southern California Games Workshop League will host its "Slaughter In Space" Independent Grand Tournament at the convention.
