Rayovac Honors Teachers Who Bring Science To Life

Teachers Enter For a Chance To Attend Steve Spangler Workshop

Few people other than Steve Spangler are better at inspiring teachers to make science fun while still challenging their students to continue learning and improving. So it only makes sense that Rayovac - a leading manufacturer of batteries and pioneer in advancing battery technology - is once again teaming up with Steve Spangler Science and its team of award-winning teachers to give three educators the opportunity to attend Spangler's hands-on science institute, Science in the Rockies, July 10-12, 2012.

It's clear to students, parents and administrators when a teacher has exceeded expectations in the classroom. That's exactly the kind of teacher Rayovac hopes to recognize in the Teachers Bring Science to Life Contest by giving them the chance to attend Science in the Rockies. The intensive three-day, hands-on science training held in Denver, Colorado offers creative science integration strategies for teachers who are focused on making science more meaningful and fun for their students.

"We're thrilled to renew this partnership, and to be able to offer three teachers the educational experience of a lifetime," said David Carlson, Director of Marketing Communications. "We're eager to honor teachers for their extraordinary efforts, and hope they walk away from the workshop with new techniques and experiments they can use in the classroom to give their students a fun and memorable experience."

Through May 9, educators at any grade level can nominate themselves for a chance to win one of three admissions by submitting an online essay, up to 300 words, at www.rayovac.com/science, explaining how they inspire students and bring learning to life. From the submissions, three inspirational teachers will be selected by Rayovac to win admission worth $895 to attend Science in the Rockies, where attendees will learn great classroom techniques and engaging experiments sure to inspire and captivate their students. More information, the official contest rules and the entry form can be found at www.rayovac.com/science.
