Porridge - Brand New Children's Musical Launched.

Musicline, leading school musical publisher has announced the release of brand new musical, Porridge.

Tamworth (I-Newswire) December 17, 2012 - Musicline School Musicals, a leading publisher of school musicals, has launched a brand new, children’s musical comedy, Porridge, written by well-known author Craig Hawes.

Porridge, aimed at KS2, 7 - 11 years, features popular story book characters such as Goldie Locks, Mother Hubbard and the three bears. It is about a crime wave which hits Happy Valley, the town where the fairy tale folk live, and the ensuing police investigation as they try to discover who is responsible.

Its pre-release performances received fantastic reviews. Joanna Hall, head teacher, North Wheatley primary school said: “Porridge has a clever story, hilarious script and fabulous songs that our whole school loved performing. The parents and pupils are still talking about it. It was a spectacular success.”

The show lasts for one hour, there are 42 speaking roles and four non-speaking parts which can be easily expanded or reduced. Porridge also features Musicline School Musical’s unique line count system, making casting a five minute job.

Craig Hawes is best known for his KS2 musical hit, Pirates of the Curry Bean, which has generated international success since its release in March 2011.
