SmartPatient Unveils First Mobile Patient Satisfaction Measurement Platform at Health 2.0
Nashville (I-Newswire) October 3, 2013 - At Health 2.0's 7th Annual Conference, SmartPatient unveiled the first real-time patient satisfaction measurement instrument designed specifically for patients' own personal mobile devices. This new method for gathering patient feedback holds great promise for improving patient experience and clinical quality. By applying SmartPatient's advanced analytics services using natural language processing and machine-learning algorithms, healthcare providers can triage responses to patients' feedback - such as real-time service recovery and identifying patients at high-risk for readmissions or adverse events.
"We're on a mission of patient empowerment," declared SmartPatient CEO Paul Clark, "Rather than waiting days or weeks for a long survey, we deliver to patients' own mobile devices the right question at the right time to continuously gauge satisfaction and engage patients."
SmartPatient, a start-up co-founded by Mr. Clark and partner Hal Andrews, was selected as a top new technology start-up by Health 2.0 for a feature demo at the Launch! Session and dubbed a "Must-See New Technology for Hospitals." Health 2.0 has a history of identifying and showcasing disruptive healthcare technology and mHealth start-ups, such as PatientsLikeMe, iTriage and CastLight Health.
Similar to Health 2.0, Mr. Andrews has a deep history of start-up innovation as creator of the Heritage Healthcare Innovation Fund, co-founder of Mainland Morgan and former CEO of Data Advantage, a healthcare IT company now a part of Press Ganey.
Joining Mr. Clark and Mr. Andrews on SmartPatient's leadership team is Sabina Gesell, PhD, a faculty member of Wake Forest and Vanderbilt University's Schools of Medicine as SmartPatient's psychometrician and lead investigator.
This unique combination of patient satisfaction measurement expertise with advanced analytics and technology platforms enable SmartPatient to translate patient feedback into quality and business intelligence.
"All patients deserve a voice," says Mr. Clark, "And that voice is frequently the missing link in healthcare's quality and efficiency equation."
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, hospitals and health systems who utilize SmartPatient's analytics or survey platforms represent the most technologically advanced and patient-centered healthcare provider organizations.
