Open Access BPO Releases White Paper on Business Continuity

Business as Usual tackles the significance of business continuity plan (BCP) to companies. The research shares tips to prepare for threats brought by natural calamities and data-related disasters like hacking and data loss.

Outsourcing firm Open Access BPO released a white paper about business continuity. The research, entitled Business as Usual: A Paper on Business Continuity Planning for Disaster Recovery, is the first in the series of studies that the company will be releasing to give businesses an insight into the outsourcing industry and help them continue their operations through advanced contingency planning.

The white paper tackles the importance of devising a business continuity plan to prepare for risks brought by natural calamities and other threats like data disaster, intrusion, hacking, theft, and loss. It also outlines potential threat scenarios, tips to help businesses mitigate disasters, and measures to keep operations uninterrupted during disasters such as hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis, and earthquakes.

Key aspects of business continuity planning such as funding, staff training, and recovery stage are highlighted in the research, as well as asset protection through backup tactics and employee management. The paper also includes steps to define threats, actions to be taken during actual emergencies, and measures to follow to speed recovery.

Open Access was prompted to conduct the research after recent calamities struck neighboring regions of Makati, Philippines where the company is located. The firm aims to lessen future damage to other companies by sharing its knowledge about properly approaching disasters before, during, and after it happens.

Business as Usual: A Paper on Business Continuity Planning for Disaster Recovery is written for global companies, expanding businesses, and entrepreneurs planning to outsource operations to offshore locations.
