Seasoned Former Starbucks Transformational Leader Joins Charity as Chief Program Officer

Kirsten Kays

Samaritan's Feet International is thrilled to announce the newest addition to its leadership team, Kirsten Kays, who has assumed the role of Chief Program Officer (CPO). In her capacity as CPO, Kirsten will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and overseeing Samaritan's Feet's diverse range of domestic and international programs.

With an impressive 31-year career in the retail industry that includes a 20-year stint with Nordstroms, Kays brings a wealth of experience in strategic planning, training, operations management, and development. Kays comes from Starbucks, where she most recently served as a Human Resources Business Partner and held a seat on the Global Inclusion and Diversity Board. An alumni of the University of Washington, Kays currently resides in Oregon and will relocate to the Charlotte area to fully immerse herself in her new role at the worldwide headquarters for Samaritan’s Feet.

“It is an honor to join Samaritan’s Feet, a 20-year-old non-profit organization that focuses on health, opportunity, peace, and education and spreading hope to those who need it most. Working to support the dedicated Samaritan's Feet employees, domestic and international partners, and all who give generously to enable the delivery of shoes in 109 countries is truly a privilege and I can't wait to see what God has in store for the next 20 years,” said Kays.

“We at Samaritan's Feet are confident that Kirsten Kays' leadership will significantly contribute to the organization's ongoing success and the positive impact it continues to make globally each year. Her wealth of experience and passion for creating positive change align perfectly with Samaritan's Feet's commitment to empowering communities and transforming lives,” said Manny Ohonme, Founder, President, and CEO of Samaritan's Feet.
