The synchronised dance movements, the combination of exotic instruments such as the maracas (or rumba shakers) and the bongos producing beautiful rhythms does allure even the shyest of people to blend on the dance floor. Kuramathi (http://www.kuramathi.com/) introduces the finest of Caribbean music with a novelty; D'Cuba Son - a four piece band from Havana, Cuba.
Comprised of artists with a rich background and flair in Latin music and its instruments, D'Cuba Son surely casts a spell on our guests with each sweeping performance. Their range of music covers salsa, merengue, flute, cumbia, maracas to English pop culture. The passionate musicians share a unique story of how they ended up in the Maldives. 'Obispo' is a street in Havana, where gifted musicians and artists gather to jam and pool in their talents to create wondrous harmonies. The four used to play at this hangout, and they eventually formed a band named D'Cuba Son (which literally translates into the 'sounds of Cuba') and travelled to the Maldives to test the waters. They are thrilled to experience the famed Maldives, with its exquisite natural beauty.
