Kleinfelder Is Awarded ExxonMobil Australia Cost-to-closure Portfolio

Portfolio consists of 136 environmental projects throughout Australia, totaling $28 million

Kleinfelder, a global science, architecture and engineering consulting firm, announced today that they have been awarded a $28 million cost-to-closure (CtC) portfolio consisting of 136 projects from ExxonMobil Australia Pty Ltd, an operating company of Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Following months of researching, preparing and refining work scopes, Kleinfelder was selected as the prime consultant to provide environmental assessment and remediation services at 136 former retail, depot and terminal facilities across the continent. This award is a lump sum contract with final milestone payment upon regulatory closure of the 136 projects.

"This significant win not only strengthens our existing presence in Australia, but also acts as a springboard to expand our global footprint into the Asia Pacific market," said Bill Siegel, CEO of Kleinfelder. "By successfully achieving regulatory closure on these projects, we will be further cementing our reputation as a global partner to our clients, providing international consistency on our wide range of services."

Kleinfelder is the prime consultant on this contract, and with the help of two teaming partners - Tonkin & Taylor and Environmental Strategies - will begin work in January 2012, with regulatory closures expected to occur sequentially over the next five to 10 years.

Kleinfelder's Australia offices were opened in August 2010, with an initial focus on the energy market and the firm's relationship with ExxonMobil. This win allows Kleinfelder to continue to grow, with the goal of providing all of the company's core services across the energy, water, transportation and facilities markets.
