Image Replacement Therapy Coming to San Antonio

The Rosenzweig Center for Rapid Recovery is set to begin training mental health counselors and therapists in Accelerated Resolution Therapy in San Antonio. Army Times has featured ART and its use working with soldiers suffering from PTSD.

Orlando, FL (I-Newswire) February 12, 2013 - The Rosenzweig Center for Rapid Recovery is coming to San Antonio this month to train mental health counselors and therapists in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). The two-day training session is set for February 28-March 1, 2013 at the Crowne Plaza - San Antonio Airport Hotel.

Since ART was developed by Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT, in West Hartford, Connecticut five years ago, more than 230 therapists have been trained in ART. ART is a unique therapy using techniques that can accomplish emotional healing in just one to three sessions, enabling clients to experience rapid recovery from trauma and other mental health problems with long-lasting results.

The San Antonio training session will include a presentation by Dr. Kevin Kip, PhD, on the theoretical basis for ART, basic components of delivery and results from two efficacy studies including both civilians and veterans.

Kip was the lead investigator at the University of South Florida that studied the treatment of 80 participants suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using ART. The results were published in the scientific journal Behavioral Sciences. Hands-on training will be led by Rosenzweig on days one and two. Supervisors and trainers will be available after sessions for one-on-one discussions.

Breakfast and lunch will be included each day.
This innovative, drug-free, non-hypnosis eye movement therapy is transcending modern therapeutic methods by virtually eliminating negative images in clients’ brains so the images can no longer be accessed, a process called Voluntary Image Replacement (VIR). Once the problem images are gone, so are the problem symptoms.

First Lady Michelle Obama referenced ART at the Joining Forces nurses event in Philadelphia last year, and Army Times has featured ART and its use working with soldiers suffering from PTSD.
ART is the reason a former Army Sergeant, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, found peace with his memories after just three sessions. It’s the reason another Afghanistan veteran, who had been suffering from insomnia, anxiety, nightmares, high blood pressure, and depression, said “this therapy changed my life,” after only two sessions.

Developed in Hartford, Conn., by Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT, ART is a drug-free, non-hypnosis rapid approach for the treatment of PTSD, phobias, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues for adults and children. Rosenzweig is currently training therapists in the use of ART in Connecticut, where her office is based, in Central and South Florida, and in Massachusetts.
