Health Education Program Honored in International Competition

The Central Florida-based Hometown Health Network has received recognition for excellence in medical marketing. The monthly health and wellness focused video program was honored by The Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals.

The Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals has once again recognized Leesburg-based Hometown Health TV, LLC (http://www.yourhometownhealth.com) for marketing excellence.

The monthly health and wellness-focused video program, which airs in medical practitioners waiting rooms and on LakeFront TV, has received a 2010 MarCom Gold Award for the September 2010 back-to-school episode of "Hometown Health." The entry won in the Video/Film/Medical category.

This is the fourth industry award Hometown Health has received since launching in March 2009.

The MarCom Awards recognize outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.

Utilizing the production resources of The Imagination Shop, Hometown Health provides news and insight from Lake County and The Villages area medical experts participating in this specialty-exclusive network of professionals. The program is updated monthly with new health and medical content, featuring the local medical professionals.

The Hometown Health Network of medical professionals now includes 21 specialists and the program airs on 48 screens across Lake County and The Villages.

Participants in the Hometown Health Network include Lake Ear, Nose, Throat & Facial Plastic Surgery Associates, the Pulmonary Group of Central Florida, Advanced Nursing Concepts, Alani Medical Spa, Veins Florida, All Coast Therapy, Lake County Oncology & Hematology, Florida Hospital Waterman Center for Medical Imaging, Florida Hospital Waterman Digital Mammography Services, Gulfcoast Spine Institute, Allergy, Sinus & Asthma Family Health Center, Tri County Podiatry, Ram Eye Care Center,
Mesos Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, Advanced Gastroenterology and Surgical Associates, Mr. Handyman, Waterman Village and Central Florida Pain Management, Etheredge Chiropractic.

Additionally, Hometown Health TV, LLC has a media partnership with Heartbeat Radio for Women, WRHB 1410 AM and also airs Saturdays, at 11 a.m. and Sundays at noon on LakeFront TV (Comcast Ch. 22, Florida Cable Ch. 4, and Bright House Ch. 199) as well as reception areas at the Lake County Health Department offices and the Florida Hospital Waterman Community Primary Health Clinic.

Hometown Health TV, LLC is headquartered in the Leesburg Incubator as a member of the Leesburg Business & Technology Center (LBTC) program which identifies startup companies in the community provides business and marketing services to ensure their growth. LBTC participants go through an extensive admissions process and must meet ongoing requirements throughout the three year program.
