Generations, A Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Alejandra Posada, Director of Education at Mental Health America of Greater Houston, will facilitate a talk-back following Generations' performance of Sweeney Todd on Sunday, July 14.

The Tony-award winning musical by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd is set in 19th century London. The "asylum," as it was unfortunately called at that time, acts a backdrop to the protagonist's spiraling obsession with revenge; his story unfolds with suspense, humor and horror. How do artists express a
gruesome environment, and actors depict altered thinking? And just how far have we come since days of the "asylum?" Ms. Posada's discussion with Generations' audience, actors and artistic staff will provide an enlightening perspective on mental health treatment today.

SWEENEY TODD: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street plays July 5th - July 28th, 2013 at Hamman Hall on the campus of Rice University (Entrance 21 off Rice Blvd.). Performances Thursdays at 7:30pm; Friday and Saturdays at 8:00pm; Sundays at 3:00pm. Ticket are $25 ($15 for students/seniors) and can be purchased online by visiting www.generationsatc.org. This special talk-back follows the 3:00 July 14 show.

Established in 2008, Generations, A Theatre Company is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to bring seasoned professionals together with aspiring younger artists to create memorable works of theatre.
