Texas (I-Newswire) August 26, 2013 - No one wants to hear the words, "you have cancer." At the age of twenty-three those were the words Matt Jones was told. After conquering his marathon with cancer, which required him to relearn how to walk, Matt is now conquering marathons around the world. His most recent one was The City to Surf held August 25th in Perth, Australia. It is the second largest officially timed race in the southern hemisphere. His goal is to run a marathon on every continent. Besides Perth Matt has ran marathons in San Diego, Rome, Tokyo, and Peru.
Matt Jones- http://www.matthewdjones.com - is an inspiration and motivational speaker who fires up, pumps, and inspires audiences through his life-changing story of overcoming insurmountable odds. After being diagnosed with cancer it would spread to his brain. Matt eventually slipped into an unconscious state and doctors did not think he would live. Against all odds he recovered and went through a successful bone marrow transplant. However, due to slipping into the unconscious state and brain damage, Matt had to relearn how to walk as well as tie his own shoes.
Matt shares strategies for overcoming insurmountable odds and achieving greater victory. His story of conquering cancer is an inspiring guide for anyone who needs to overcome a challenge, stay motivated and be victorious. Developing a "Marathon Mentality" is a key to negotiating the obstacles of life and work, says Matt in his books and in his presentations.
The main theme Matt shares in his presentations, books, and seminars is, "when it comes to your victory it is not the outside stuff that matters but the inside stuff that counts." Matt also tells his audiences, "If you can see it, believe it's possible, you can do it." Matt's story is a testament to those words as he went from lying in a hospital bed to crossing the finishing line of the City to Surf Marathon in Perth.
