Friendly Ford Celebrates 41 Years In Las Vegas

Las Vegas Mayor Oscar B. Goodman Marks Dealership's 41st Anniversary.

This month, Friendly Ford celebrates its 41st anniversary as a part of the Las Vegas community. Led by chairman Ed Olliges and general manager Jason Davis, the dealership welcomed Las Vegas mayor Oscar B. Goodman to the festivities on April 15.

Mayor Goodman, the self-proclaimed "Happiest Mayor in the World" said he has attended every Friendly Ford anniversary celebration since taking office in 1999. "I haven't missed one," said Goodman. "I'm very proud of Friendly," he told the crowd. "You are a mainstay of the community." Goodman directed his highest compliment to Olliges when he said, "You take care of your employees to make them happy and productive...from the service department to the sales department to the CEO." Olliges has been Friendly Ford's chairman since the dealership opened in 1970.

Most of Friendly Ford's 180 employees enjoyed breakfast and discussions of Friendly Ford's past, present and future during the anniversary celebration. The team got a sneak peek of Ford's new online marketing campaign, which made its debut online this month. The comedic Ford Focus 2012 commercials feature Doug the Puppet and are available to view on YouTube.

In a scene only found in Las Vegas, Olliges escorted the Mayor and two showgirls through every department of Friendly Ford to ensure all employees had a chance to meet them. "From the body shop and parts and service to the fleet department and sales, this company was built on people," said Olliges.

Olliges said many Friendly Ford employees have worked with the company for more than 10 years and some have been there for more than 30 years. "We know that customer satisfaction begins with employee satisfaction and do our best to make sure Friendly Ford employees are happy and productive. When customers have good experiences, they buy again from us and often have their family and friends come in to buy from us. That kind of loyalty can only be built from the customer relationships we work hard to develop every day."

Friendly Ford is a 13-time winner of the Ford Motor Company Presidents Award for customer satisfaction. "We hold ourselves to very high standards, and are happy that it shows in the service we provide our customers," said Jason Davis, general manager. "This is a people business. Whether it's at the dealership or in the community, we are proud to represent the Friendly Ford name."
