(I-Newswire) June 8, 2010 - Erin Lale will give a free 45 minute lecture on Viking religion and history and sign copies of her book Asatru For Beginners at:

June 14 Northern Winds Books, Phoenix, AZ.

June 16 Blue Eagle Books, Albuquerque, NM.

June 18 Unitarian Universalist Church, Amarillo, TX.

June 20-27 Featured Author at Pagan Spirit Gathering, Camp Zoe, MO.

Oct 8-10 Hammarheim Viking Village at Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival, Las Vegas, NV.

Her first booksigning was in her hometown of Henderson, NV at 4MysticMinds Books on May 22. Asatru For Beginners was available only as an ebook since 2002, and is now in its first print edition.

Her book will be for sale at the Hammarheim/ Seraphine Isle camp throughout the Renaissance Festival, and a percentage of the gross will benefit the Las Vegas Renaissance Society.

In the 1990s, Lale was the publisher and editor of Berserkrgangr Magazine, and is currently directing the film Bersarkrgangr: The Viking Martial Art. Her previous publications include the academic paper Paganism Among the Early Slavs.

Lale dedicated her book to the memory of her father, a Cherokee, who shaped her perspective on religion by raising her in Native American spirituality. The front matter of her book quotes him as telling her at age 5, "Listen to the corn. Listen to the wind. Listen to your heart." A. L. Lale was disabled and a decorated US Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Lale is running for Nevada State Assembly District 29 in the general election in November 2010. She lives in the Green Valley area of Henderson with her mother Meta, a retired public school teacher, and her cat Beni-Wan Cat-Obi, the star of her Cool Cat Campaign Commercial.
