Empire City Casino To Light Up Yonkers Skies With Holiday Tree Lighting On Saturday, December 8

Empire City Casino will light its holiday tree on Dec. 8. Festivities are scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., and the lights will go on at 7 p.m.

Yonkers, N.Y. (I-Newswire) December 6, 2012 - Empire City Casino and the Rooney Family will get into the holiday spirit early when it hosts its first-ever Christmas Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 8, with the festivities beginning at 5:30 PM in front of the casino’s Main Entrance (Grand Victorian Hall) off of Central Park Avenue (at the General Parking Entrance).

It will be a holiday family affair with Free Admission for children and adults alike, and will feature Carolers, complimentary hot chocolate, apple cider, cookies, and nuts for all. The carolers’ serenade of songs will begin at 6:00; an appearance by special guests, none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus is slated for 6:55 with a reading of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas”; and the official tree lighting will proceed promptly at 7:00 PM.

As part of its Coat and Toy Drive, new, unwrapped toys, and new or gently worn coats will be accepted for families in need, and distributed through Catholic Charities.
