Countdown Begins For The 2012 Edition Of IMT Ghaziabad’s Marketing World Cup

Deadlines for entering the Marketing World Cup, Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad’s annual meeting of the marketing minds are rapidly approaching.

Cochin (I-Newswire) November 8, 2012 - Deadlines for entering the Marketing World Cup, Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad’s annual meeting of the marketing minds are rapidly approaching.

The two-day event, organized by Club MarkUp, IMT Ghaziabad’s marketing club, is slated to be held November 24-25 and deadlines for the main core events range from Nov. 10 - 13. Every year the cream of the crop from India’s top business schools battle it out for thousands of rupees in prize money and a chance at grabbing the Marketing World Cup.

Last year’s event drew more than 150 teams from most of the major B-Schools in the country including the IIMs, FMS, MDI, IITs, SPJAIN and NITIE who came to tackle the captivating case studies presented. This year’s event should be even bigger and better, with events under consideration titled Money Ball, Duvetail, The Pirzaria Puzzle, Well Made in China and RE-inCARnation.

Money Ball will pose the challenge of marketing retail loans and delivering service efficiently, while Duvetail will delve into the fast moving consumer goods sector to look at brand extension in the personal care industry. The Pirzaria Puzzle will seek marketing solutions aimed at returning a whole country back to its glory days; Well Made in China will look at ways of improving the perception of that country’s goods and RE-inCARnation will see students making marking proposals for Bajaj's RE60, a four-wheel vehicle aimed at bringing about a major shift in the current three-wheel passenger vehicle industry.

Prizes for each event range from 30,000 to 50,000 rupees - but you have to be in it to win it and the time to enter is almost up. Deadlines for these core events are as follows: Money Ball Nov. 10, Duvetail Nov. 11, The Pirzaria Puzzle Nov. 13, Well Made in China Nov. 11 and RE-inCARnation Nov. 13.

All events are geared to capture the interest and test the skills of future marketing managers.

â€?“The categories this year are great,â€?? said student Karthik Govindarajan . â€?“I’m particularly interested in RE-inCARnation. It will be interesting to see what plans the teams come up with to grab a fair market share because the three-wheelers have become really entrenched in Indian society - they could be hard to dislodge.â€??

Sponsors and partners for IMT Ghaziabadâ€?œs Marketing World Cup this year are: BSE Ltd., Oriental Bank of commerce, Yebhi.com, NTPC, Youth Incorporated and The Smart Manager.
