CNN and Turner Broadcasting Network Propels Veterans and Operation Veterans Promise Forward.

Online, September 9, 2013 (Newswire.com) - CNN and Turner Broadcasting Network representative from all levels of the organization reached out to Operation Veteran's Promise to recognize OVP and the Veterans its support. Communication with over four hundred members of the Network, who took the time to answer the call, established connections and develop further collaborative efforts on behalf of Veterans. "The weekend's response was enormous, much more than we anticipated" said OVP CEO Michael Angielski. "Given all that is happening in the world today, Syria, Congressional debate, pending military action even a threats of impeachment being focus of the media frenzy, it was encouraging to see such an established and well respected member of the media community to take an interest in our cause and Veterans" Angielski stated.

So many in the media are broadcasting what is happening in Syria and to those unfortunate souls there, the Syrian Civilians, the Free Syrian Army, Christian refugees, Al Qaeda, even the effect on Israel, all on the eve of 9/11 the Military and the personnel who fill its ranks seem to have become an afterthought. CNN and Turner Broadcasting's interest demonstrates the first signal from the media of a post conflict concerns far beyond what happens to, in or with Syria. It is a significant reminder that our Military is not just an afterthought of the entire process. "In my humble opinion it is not likely Syria will remain a military action which will not include the use of ground forces should the president receive congressional support" Angielski admitted. Should US ground forces deploy, there will be a new generation of Combat Veterans inaugurated; with it another generation of young American men and women who will become all too familiar with the horrors of war. "When these young men and women return home undoubtedly some will be in need of veteran's support Angielski continued." Staying ahead of the curve requires OVP engage in the conversation regarding Veterans now, not after the engagement is underway; it is important that our Military understands their importance to us before, during and post engagement; it is that post service period where far too many former military members, Veterans fall through the crack.

Operation Veterans Promise a newly established veteran related non-profit approached members of the Turner Broadcast Network and CNN in an effort to broaden awareness and strengthen support for Veterans, OVP and other veterans outreach initiatives.
