CityStash Partners with WC Smith to Make Storage Easy in Washington, DC

New Self-Storage Startup Company Offers Exclusive Discounts to WC Smith Residents

One of the largest multidisciplinary real estate firms in Washington, DC has added a new benefit for its 10,000 plus residential units.

WC Smith has partnered with CityStash, a self-storage startup company, to offer its residents exclusive discounts on storage. The partnership will allow CityStash to reach WCS's residents by holding on-site informational events and distributing materials in WCS buildings.

"With storage pricing at a premium, partnering with CityStash was an obvious choice," said Holli Beckman, Vice President of Marketing & Leasing Operations for WC Smith. "Our company is always looking for ways to add value and convenience for our residents."

CityStash founder, Tim Friemel, agrees and says the rapid growth and rising cost of living in urban areas are contributing to a rise in demand for storage.

"City dwellers are in a bind," said Friemel. "They choose smaller apartment units but keep accumulating more stuff. Many don't want to pay for an entire storage unit or do the physical labor to transport it. Our partnership with WC Smith offers our services as an amenity to their residents and also gives us the chance to expand our reach to a large, sophisticated client base."

CityStash, which was founded in 2012, operates differently than traditional self-storage models by doing the heavy lifting for its customers. The company delivers empty containers and boxes to a customer's home or office for them to pack, and then CityStash returns to pick up the boxes, containers, or whatever else needs storing. Everything is transported hassle-free and housed in their secure, climate-controlled facilities. Plus, customers can have any individual item redelivered on demand through a simple to use online account.

Better yet, CityStash charges rent on a per item basis, so customers only pay for the space they actually use. For instance, storage costs $5 per month for a box and $17 per month for a bookshelf. This pricing model essentially eliminates one of the biggest problems in the traditional self-storage industry: paying for a half-empty storage unit.

CityStash was recently awarded "Best of Houzz 2014" in Customer Service by Houzz, the leading on-line platform for home remodeling and design.

The company has locations in Washington, DC and San Francisco. For additional information and services, call (202) 417-2120, email info@citystash.com, or visit www.citystash.com. For additional information on WC Smith services and properties, please visit www.wcsmith.com.
