Chicago Special Needs Dentist Became a Member of Special Care Dentistry Association

Chicago special needs dentist is now a member of Special Care Dentistry Association.

Chicago special needs dentist Dr. Elseweifi of Bucktown Dental Associates joined Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA). SCDA is the international association that organizes activities of individuals and groups interested in promoting oral health and wellbeing for people with special needs and for the geriatric population. Members include dentists, dental hygienists, health program administrators, residents, students and hospitals.

Special needs dentistry requires dentists dedicated to providing dental care for people with special needs. It requires commitment to education in the management and special treatment of children and adults with disabilities. As special needs dentistry is not a common practice, special needs dentists need to work together to share information, educate the public and raise awareness.

SCDA provides many educational and networking opportunities for dentists who treat patients with special needs and geriatric patients. In addition, the organization advocates for national legislation and is involved in improving dental education, and in developing practice guidelines and protocols designed to assist dentists in providing oral healthcare services to people with special needs.

Chicago special needs dentist Dr. Elseweifi continues to earn credentials in special needs and geriatric dentistry. He attends training to advance his knowledge and skills in special needs dentistry. He just came back from Tennessee where he attended advanced training in the dental care for people with special needs. At his dental office in Chicago, Bucktown Dental Associates, he offers dental care to patients with autism, cerebral palsy, ADHD, Down syndrome, and many other disabilities. He provides care using behavioral management and minimal sedation techniques. Dr. Elseweifi is a member of the College of Sedation in Dentistry.
