Cambium Networks™ Event Highlights Need for High Performance Wireless Connectivity Technologies in Middle East

Large areas within the Middle East remain unconnected or under-connected despite the internet proving to be an important driver of business growth in the region

The need for cost-effective wireless connectivity solutions in the Middle East has become a pressing issue for telcos and private businesses alike as was evident at an event recently conducted by Cambium Networks, a global leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, in collaboration with its local distribution partner, Prologix Distribution. The first of its kind event which was held in Dubai on 22 January, 2014, drew a massive attendance of over a hundred and fifty C-level professionals from wireless ISPs, mobile service providers, system integrators, law enforcement agencies, defence and security and oil and gas organizations from across the GCC and African nations.

The theme 'Connect the Unconnected' resounded well with attendees as these organizations will drive the deployment and advancement of secure high speed networks across the region. So far, the lack of robust wireless technologies capable of maintaining high performance even in harsh environmental conditions has been a pain point for these customers. Cambium Networks has been quick to address this market gap with its new breakthrough broadband platforms - PMP 450, ePMP™ and PTP 650.

In attendance at the event were top level executives from Cambium Networks and Prologix Distribution, including Mr. Atul Bhatnagar, President and CEO of Cambium Networks. He said, "Resiliency, scalability, performance and security are the foremost requirements of the wireless networks being deployed across the Middle East and Africa. Having emerged from Motorola's wireless broadband solutions division, Cambium has a rich heritage and the knowledge to deliver the required broadband solutions for the market without sacrificing quality or performance."

Cambium Network's ePMP remote connectivity platform and the high power PTP650 point-to-point system- that have already generated waves in the market- were extremely well received at the event. Live demos were conducted letting attendees witness first-hand the unmatched capabilities of these solutions. The Cambium ePMP really stands out as a solution for the region as it is not always possible to lay fiber cables for high-speed connectivity. Other products in the market are either too expensive or simply cannot meet the resiliency demands of the harsh climate here. Cambium has achieved something truly incredible by overcoming both these obstacles."

Prologix Distribution, the preferred partner for Cambium Networks in the region, hailed the event to be a massive success. Sarwan Singh, Managing Director at Prologix said, "From the turnout and interest today it is evident that we have brought to the region exactly what the market has been waiting for. Even now, although the internet has proven to be essential to conducting business and driving growth of a country, there remain large areas within the Middle East which are either unconnected or under-connected. We are committed to changing this and will continue to work closely with Cambium Networks to achieve this goal."

Prologix intends to quickly capitalize on the overwhelmingly positive market interest generated by the landmark event and has already initiated talks with a number of attending customers to help them select and implement the Cambium Networks' solutions that would best serve their wireless connectivity requirements.
