Bioscape Digital, anlong with 38 other companies, selected among hundreds of applicants to exhibit at Southland Conference 2014 - Technology, Entrepreneurship + Southern Culture

Bioscape Digital will be joining some 38 other early-stage companies at the second Southland Conference in Nashville's Marathon Village, which will take place from June 9 to 11. The start-ups were selected from hundreds of open applications in March by a panel of investors, entrepreneurs and technology writers from across the country and each will be given exhibition space at the Southland Village.

"We look forward to interacting with everyone at the village and hopefully learning a few things in the process," said Jon Harmer, Bioscape's Chief Marketing Officer. "The exposure should also be helpful in connecting Bioscape with other interested parties," he adds.

Organized by Launch Tennessee, this year's Southland Conference will be in partnership with Pando Daily, a web publication start-up with a focus on technology news in Silicon Valley.

In addition, 10 start-ups from the conference are selected to pitch for not only a grand prize in cash, but also expert business coaching and media exposure through PandoDaily.

A panel of ten judges, who each contributed individual investments of $10,000 to create the $100,000 grand prize, will decide who is the most innovative company. Five of the 10 judges include Josh Kopelman of First Round Capital, Shervin Pishevar of Sherpa Ventures, Kirsten Green of Forerunner Ventures, Kevin Colleran of General Catalyst, and Vic Gatto from Nashville's Jumpstart Foundry.

It was also announced that Al Gore, whose many affiliations to technology include co-founding Generation Investment, would be among the speakers of the summit. Others slated to speak include Paypal president David Marcus; Evernote's CEO Phil Libin; co-founder of Bonobos, Andy Dunn and; CEO of Box,Aaron Levie.

The conference last year brought together more than 500 entrepreneurs, investors and innovative leaders. The winner of the competition then was wireless sensor maker, Variable Inc.
