Bing Partners With Yelp Enhancing Search Results

After Google entered into a partnership with Zagat to enhance its local search, Microsoft's Bing has joined hands with Yelp for further beautifying its search result page, instead of sitting still.

According to the latest buzz, soon after Google announced its partnership with Zagat in the month of May this year unveiling Google+ Local, Microsoft's Bing hasn't sat calmly either. Bing has announced its partnership with Yelp, an online business that assists people in finding world class eating joints, relaxing zones and outlets based on the user's interest. Rolling out this feature for U.S. users on Thursday, Yelp said in an interview that the service will be available amongst the worldwide audiences very soon. It also reported that Bing will feature Yelp results on its search engine results pages as well.

However, the partnership between Bing and Yelp, which came as a rival against Google+ Local, will enable its users to find out the best of all restaurants, to plan a perfect evening hangout with friends and family by providing the best entertainment, local services, etc, stated by Mike Nichols, the General Manager of Bing. According to him, Yelp has proved itself to be one of the most trusted resources for providing its users with the best services.

However, Google+ Local on the other hand, provides its users with the review of the best hangout joints, recommendation of Google+ friends along with its traditional search results. It is to be noted that this service is not only limited for the users of Google+, but for all. Available in the form of a tab in Google+, this service can also be integrated with Google search, and the Google Maps mobile application.

With an idea of contending with Google, Microsoft has been constantly updating its search engine Bing in the recent past. During the previous week, Microsoft has expanded its search results by entering into an alliance with Encyclopedia Britannica so as to include results and more relevant data to its Bing results page from Britannica Online.
