Bates Nissan of Killeen Offers Two 2012 Nissan Models Recently Honored in J.D. Power APEAL Study

J.D. Power and Associates released the results of their 2012 APEAL study, and Bates Nissan of Killeen, Texas, proudly offers two featured Nissan vehicles.

It would be an easy assumption that best-selling car models are also the most loved by their owners. However, often the best-selling cars are purchased not for driving satisfaction, but for utility and practicality instead. J.D. Power and Associates conducted a study referred to as the "things gone right" study to determine the aspects car buyers are most satisfied with in the first 90 days of ownership.

The APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) Study is measures how "gratifying" a vehicle is to own and drive for new buyers. A survey evaluated driver satisfaction with more than 80 vehicle attributes. J.D. Power and Associates studied the answers of over 74,000 buyers and lessees of 2012 model-year cars and trucks after their first 90 days of ownership, between February and May 2012. APEAL ratings grade the vehicle's performance, comfort, features/instrument panel, and styling on a five-point "Powercircle" system.

While not unexpected that 2012 Nissan models ranked highest in two classes in the APEAL Study, the specific models might be surprising.

While Nissan might be known for small, sporty cars like the Altima, the 2012 Nissan Frontier posted the highest satisfaction scores in the Midsize Pickup category. Scoring the highest Powercircle rating of five from J.D. Power and Associates for both quality and performance/design, the Nissan Frontier was also rated number one among compact pickups by U.S. News Ranking and Reviews. Reviewers praised the smooth ride, good driving dynamics, and 4-cylinder or V6 engine choices.

Taking the Midsize Van category is the 2012 Nissan Quest. Yes, for those who didn't know, Nissan makes a van, and it is confirmed to be a good one! Like the Nissan Frontier, the 2012 Quest earned highest J.D. Powercircle ratings for overall quality and performance. In the owners' scores, the Nissan Quest received highest possible ratings in 13 out of 15 areas studied. The 2012 Quest is available in four trims with a base MSRP of $25,990.
