Balentine , an independent, employee-owned investment advisory firm serving individuals, families and not-for-profit institutions, announced its 2012 Summer Reading List today. This list of 11 books ranges from 11/22/63, Stephen King's new novel about the assassination of JFK, to Steve Jobs, Walter Isaacson's fascinating biography of the genius behind Apple.

"We are very excited about this year's Summer Reading List. The books we've chosen are representative of the diverse interests and experiences of our team and speak to our firm's belief in the importance of both Scientific and Artistic inquiry. We are so pleased to share these with one another and with the individuals and communities we serve," said Jeff Adams , Balentine President. He continued, "We hope our clients and friends of the firm will join us in the discussion of these books this summer."

Balentine solicited suggestions from Balentine team members and Facebook fans and then narrowed that list to 11 fiction and non-fiction books. These works represent the interests of their team members and online community and are aimed at engaging their employees, clients and friends of the firm. Balentine team members will share their recommendations throughout the summer on the Balentine Facebook page and via the new Balentine Summer Reading Pinterest boards.

In addition to sharing the tale of a twelve-year-old boy who lives in the walls of a Paris train station, The Invention of Hugo Cabret tells the story of Georges Meliès, one of the earliest Science Fiction filmmakers. Dr. Tonia Edwards, Balentine's Communications and Marketing Manager, also teaches film and media at Georgia State University and will be discussing the book as it relates to aspects of early film history.
