Affordable Community Living (ACL a 501(C)(3) Non-Profit To Put 10 Veterans Into Homes This New Year

The Veterans Affordable Housing Program, a charity program created by Veterans For Veterans, has partnered with the new socially conscious crowdfunding site, Funder Way, to assist 10 veterans and their families move into their own homes this New Year

In keeping with the true spirit of the holiday season, the Veterans Affordable Housing Program, a charity program created by Veterans For Veterans, that operates without government assistance, has partnered with the new socially conscious crowdfunding site, Funder Way, to do more good in the world by helping veterans achieve home ownership.

The two groups have joined forces to find and assist 10 veterans and their families by providing down payments and other assistance to purchase their own manufactured homes, furnished and stocked with food. A crowdfunding campaign, which is a way for people anywhere ("the crowd") to use the Internet to find and contribute to projects and products they find interesting and can believe in, is being launched this week to raise $25,000 in order to put 10 veterans and their families into quality, affordable manufactured homes.

It takes just $5,000 to put a veteran into their own home with this program. Every dollar raised through Funder Way's crowdfunding campaign will be matched by the ACL's Veterans Affordable Housing Program. That means that each $2,500 raised from contributors will be matched with $2,500 in funds by the program to put each veteran and their family into their own home. The much lauded private charity, praised by members of every branch of the U.S. military, serves communities throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, and Washington states, with future plans to expand.

Appreciation for the charity's outstanding work is perhaps best reflected in quotes from those who have received help from it. Ivery B., a Marine Vietnam veteran, says: "Because of my disability I was feeling helpless and discouraged about a home purchase. When I applied I was quickly approved. We are so grateful." Observes Peter K., a Korean War veteran: "Even with credit problems and limited income from Social Security, Veterans Affordable Housing was able to help me. I received down payment assistance and a move-in rent subsidy until I got back on my financial feet."

Notes Aggie Kobrin, cofounder of Funder Way, "We're thrilled to support this worthwhile program as the centerpiece for the launch of our new socially conscious crowdfunding site. Veterans Affordable Housing Program has demonstrated a remarkable track record for providing affordable manufactured housing for veterans and their families."
