In 2008, ZVUE Corporation (ZVUE.pk) purchased eBaumsworld.com from its creators for a sum approaching $20 million dollars. November 20, 2009 at 10AM Central, just over a year later, the entire ZVUE Corporation, all personal property and intangible assets to include eBaumsworld.com are up for sale on the auction block. The auction, being conducted by Frank Ronne & Associates, Inc. will be webcast for live bidding by BidSpotter.com.

ZVUE Corporation, was originally formed in 2003. Located in San Francisco, it was a leading manufacturer of mass-market priced Mp3 players, which were sold exclusively through Wal-Mart stores and online. Growing into a “global media-to-go” company, ZVUE expanded its line to include the sites, EBaumsWorld.com™, Putfile.com™, YourDailyMedia.com™, FunMansion.com™, Dorks.com™, UnOriginal.co.uk™, Holy Lemon™ and ZVUE.com. In February of 2008, ZVUE was favored by Goldman Sachs, but quickly it’s course changed. The pink sheet company recently defaulted on it’s loans leaving it at the mercy of the gavel.

EBaumsworld.com being the most prominent of the company’s holdings has been the source of much controversy itself, as a large portion of its contents was not its own creation, and was only re-branded with the eBaum logo. Averaging close to 1.5 million unique visits monthly, the site achieves lofty prices and prime clients for its online advertising spaces. The rights to this site, and others owned by ZVUE will be included in the sale.
