Zultrax Brings P2P With Strong Privacy Protection

(I-Newswire) December 17, 2004 - Zultrax is one of the younger applications known as P2P clients. The former Gnutella client has seen its user-base growing rapidly to around 17.000 frequent users at this date, growing at a rate of around 2.000 a month. Growth has set in since the introduction of the ZEPP protocol now one year ago. Zultrax provides still the possibility to run both the ZEPP and the Gnutella network or only one of both.

The aim of Zultrax Software is to provide a very easy tool for file sharing with full privacy protection. This privacy protection is built in layers making it near to impossible to tell for sure who is sharing what on the network. Trusting only on proxies might be not enough and is a choice that reduces the transport speed of files with high numbers.

Zultrax aims for privacy protection with a mixture of technologies amongst which:
-Encryption,
-Proxies – For a portion of the traffic,
-Falsification – A small portion of the network traffic is not true.

This is falsified to look as real as possible. Also the software cannot distinguish false from true information. The portion is only small but big enough to make all information unreliable
-Intruder fighting – The network itself tries to detect connections made by software other than Zultrax. If so this connection will be not closed but flooded with false information.
-One connection type – All information (downloads, file information, searches, network information) travels over one connection.
-Swarming. - This technology is meant for fast transferring files coming from multiple sources. Mixing it in as a privacy protection feature means using the possibility to sent files as a large collection of small packages of multiple sources as a way to make the traffic on the network look totally fuzzy.

Zultrax is free available for download and distribution. The software comes with no restrictions and is not sponsored by adware or spyware. Zultrax software gains its income from the donations made by users who choose to register. As a reward this users gain extra priority on the ZEPP network. Zultrax Software also uses the product Zultrax as a door opener for gaining commercial more interesting work as a software house in the Amsterdam area.

After a successful 2004 Zultrax will continue to be developed in 2005. Three main paths that are currently under development are a more intuitive user interface, a Linux version and extra search options. Zultrax will always remain free of adware, spyware and other malware.
