Looking for remarkable books to add to your child's summer reading list? Then, look no further. Authors for Children, a newly formed non-profit organization founded by A.R. Bey and Mark H. Jones, will be hosting their first book fair at Barnes & Nobl

(I-Newswire) May 4, 2009 - AFC features the works of local, independent, and self-published children's authors and promotes youth literacy by fostering stories that encourage the value of education, in addition to, instilling cultural heritage.

An event for the entire family to enjoy, one can look forward to author readings, fun activities, and special prize giveaways. Feature works will consist of pictures books for children ages 4-8, as well as young adult titles for children ages 9-12 and 10-14.

The 1st Annual AFC Book Fair will showcase titles from Tonya Cherie Hegamin, (Houghton Mifflin, Scholastic Books) and
Allison Whittenberg (Random House). Hegamin and Whittenberg have each received a host of honorable literary distinctions, including favorable reviews from Publisher's Weekly, USA Today, and the School Library Journal.
