JamQuest Hoops Boston Tournament to Help Kids in Need

This Saturday, November 16th from 6-9:00PM the University Sports Complex in Hanover, Massachusetts will host JamQuest Hoops Boston to raise awareness and crucial funds for kids in poverty and depravation in Kenya, Africa. JamQuest Hoops is a 3-On-3 basketball tournament founded by Nick Shoff in 2008 as an eighth grade service project to help orphans in poverty in Kenya Africa. The event has involved thousands of kids in multiple locations around the US and raised over $40,000 partnering with HOPE worldwide Kenya Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) who work with kids orphaned by AIDS living in poverty and depravation. JamQuest Hoop's mission is: "To bring faith, hope and love to kids in need around the world through the care and service of young athletes."

Recently NBA Global Ambassador Dikembe Mutombo and NFL Chargers All Pro quarterback Philip Rivers each personally contacted Nick to offer their recognition and support. Dikembe Mutombo said in a personal video to Nick, "The food, clothes and money that you've been raising is very important, but to me the hope that you're giving to them, to know that somebody's there and cares for them is most important." Philip Rivers wrote Nick a letter of recognition for his "service to the community and the world".

The upcoming JamQuest Hoops Boston tournament at "The U" in Hanover is an eagerly anticipated event. The tournament for ages 11 and up showcases a fun and exciting format enabling every team to play at least three round-robin games and an opportunity to play in a competitive, age specific 3-on-3 single elimination championship tournament. Registration is only $20 and includes a JamQuest Hoops Boston tournament t-shirt.

Nick Shoff, now a college sophomore who played varsity basketball in high school stated in his recent online video, "This year JamQuest promises to be the best that it has ever been! We have some amazing dreams and goals, it looks like we will be in about fifteen different areas across the United States." JamQuest Hoops, whose slogan is "Do You For Others" encourages all kids to use their unique gifts and talents to serve others and make a difference.
