The poll will then be published annually and updated every 90 days, to support children education development across the globe.
The poll’s data was gathered by the New Jersey Minority Educational Development (NJMED) organization, from the 5 most prestigious educational data banks – the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO); The Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS); Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU); Progress in International Reading Study (PIRLS); and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECO) Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) study, and then confirmed by each nation’s department of education, to assure for its accuracy.
The list for 2013 has Japan (17.4) as number one, two points higher than South Korea (15.4), and five points better than the United Kingdom (11.8). For a complete copy of the list you can visit http://usent.org/World_Top_20.html.
Albert Mitchell II, the Executive Director of NJMED, said, “He was shocked that many countries did not have or kept updated information about their education system.
Mr. Mitchell said, “He hopes by creating the World Top 20 Education Poll, nations will take more stock on how important it is to treasure this information and invest, more to their children and their future workforce.”
