With Perfect Score Tutoring’s Help, Brooklyn Middle School Gets Out of the Danger Zone

Perfect Score Tutoring worked closely with the school's principal, Mr. B. Warrington, and its teachers. The company hired the school's own instructors to run the after school programs on campus. In the 2008-2009 school year, sixth graders working with Perfect Score Tutoring saw a 13 percent jump in their ELA scores based on the company's pre and post-test evaluations, from 65 percent to 78 percent. Sixth graders also went up 12 percent in math, from 70 percent to 82 percent. Seventh and eighth graders working with Perfect Score Tutoring have also had more than a ten point jump in ELA and Math from pre and post assessments.
Walt Whitman Middle School was one of 13 schools that were taken off the SURR list in March. In reaction to the news, Mayor Michael Bloomberg told the New York Daily News, "Today's news is another sign of the progress we've made turning America's largest school district around."
