Viva Live Music's Musical Trends

Viva Live Music have noticed some great musical trends this year! Here is a break down of what's hot and what's not for this years live entertainment.

Viva Live Music notices current entertainment trends for 2013 Leading live entertainment.

company, Viva Live Music, has noticed trends with entertainment requests already this year, with a major rush for 'Vintage' themes, folk music, acoustic musicians and interactive entertainment - such as mix and mingle musicians. This is a significant change from last year's trends which included bookings for reality show contestants; Tribute Bands and entertainment to co-incide with the Olympics and Jubilee celebrations.

Given the popularity of 'Historical' Shows such as Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife, an increased number of clients are aiming to recreate a vintage theme, with music and entertainment being a significant part in creating the right atmosphere. In the last six months Viva Live Music has delivered bespoke musical entertainment themes as varied as 'Dickens Christmas'; 'Prohibition Club Music', 'Sixties Discoteque', '1950s Casino' and 'Downton Christmas'.

Future requests include a Victorian Fair; Japanese Tea ceremony - with entertainment to accompany that and a rush on 1920s themed events to co-incide with the release of "The Great Gatsby". Managing Director Susan Heaton Wright said "We believe the increased popularity in acoustic music and folk comes from the success of Mumford and Sons internationally. Also, a number of musicians like Ed Sheehan and Emili Sande perform with minimal sound enhancement, creating an interest in the acoustic sound. This lends itself to interactive musicians who are able to mix and mingle with guests whilst playing their instruments, or event 'pop up' stages and performance spaces at a venue, instead of restricting musicians and performers to a stage performance".
