Hampton Court Palace to Celebrate Handel's Royal Repertoire with a Musical Extravaganza

Enjoy a classical music evening, featuring compositions by Handel, at the Hampton Court Palace.

On the 14th September, 2014 Hampton Court Palace will be hosting a musical extravaganza to celebrate Handel’s royal repertoire. The Fireworks Music and Illuminations evening will showcase the German composer’s best operas culminating in Music for the Royal Fireworks and a spectacular fireworks display.

To celebrate the Glorious George’s season, in association with the Thames Festival, the evening is inspired by traditional court festivities and brought to life by Arcangelo’s 30-piece orchestra.

George Handel enjoyed a successful career as a Baroque composer in the early 18th century and played Kapellmeister to King George himself. Composing a wide variety of operas still popular to this day, Handel is considered one of the masters of classical music.

Ticket holders to the Music and Illuminations event are free to explore the Privy Gardens in Hampton Court Palace from 6.30pm, where the evening is held. The Little Banqueting House will also be open for guests until the show begins. There will be a variety of refreshments available for visitors to enjoy throughout the summer evening.

Hampton Court Palace is one of the popular historic royal venues amongst London Pass holders and international visitors, alike. And for this sell-out event, tickets are £35 for Adults and £20 for Concessions.

Hampton Court Palace is situated only a few minutes walk from Hampton Court Station which is on a direct line to and from London Waterloo. There are 2 direct trains per hour from London Waterloo, which take 40 minutes, leaving at 06 minutes and 36 minutes past the hour.
