Values For Life – Teachers’ Day Celebrations At UMA, Jamshedpur

Ranchi (I-Newswire) October 20, 2012 - Usha Martin Academy, Jamshedpur is particular about traditional values in its students and encourages events and celebrations that inculcate these values. On 5th September, 2012, two hundred students came together as a mark of respect towards their teachers and celebrated the Teachers’ Day with much gusto and frolic. The event began with a welcome to the faculty in Jain Bhawan with a tilak and flowers. Mr. Suparswa Chakraborty, Dean UMA Jamshedpur was invited on the stage to light the inaugural lamp. In his address to the gathering he said, “This Teachers’ Day was special to me as the students as a team celebrated the occasion. Earlier the approach used to be individualistic but this year it was a group affair and as a teacher it is satisfying in itself.”

The welcome note was followed by a group song. The excitement soon soared with the faculty being invited for a catwalk! They were surprised but then went along with the fun to walk the ramp with the students. Everyone present enjoyed the ramp walk, more because it was an unusual sight for the students, “The best thing I liked was the ramp walk of the teachers”, said a pleasantly surprised Prasenjit Majumdar, a student of BBA. There were songs, dances and performances thereafter and all the faculty participated wholeheartedly, “This Teachers’ Day was just perfect. The arrangements made by the students were fabulous. The students made us sing, dance and even act. I am really thankful to all the students of Usha Martin Academy, Jamshedpur. The just made us feel special in every way” shared Prof. Subhamoy Hazra, Sales & Marketing.

All faculty were presented with a token of love and appreciation. Pleasure and satisfaction was writ large on their faces and they could barely contain their emotions, “Teachers’ Day is a very special day in a teacher’s life, and the same was reinforced by our students by organizing different cultural programs and a magnificent show on that auspicious day. I am really overwhelmed with their love, respect and sincerity towards their teachers”, effused Partho Sarathi Banerjee, Team Leader – Sales & Marketing. Rajlaxmi J. Moonka, IT Faculty said, “As of now, it was always me who was a part of the show but the first experience of being among the audience was a good one. A great show put up by the ‘UMA Jamshedpur’ team!”

A team effort it was and students enjoyed putting it together, however, it also brought a lot of learning for them. “On Teachers Day, I really enjoyed very much. All the students as well as our teachers cooperated with each other to make the function a memorable one. This cooperation was true learning for us,” shared Simarjeet Kaur, a BBA student. “We managed to pull everything perfectly well within almost no time but then that is true management.” The event came to an end with everyone dancing to the trendy tunes followed by refreshments, sound of laughter and thanksgiving.
