Valerie Schwalbe, PT Joins Hand & Orthopedic Rehab

Online, June 19, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Hand & Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialists is pleased to announce Valerie Schwalbe has joined WomanCare, a company of Hand & Orthopedic Rehabilitation Specialists. WomanCare offers comprehensive Physical Therapy for women. Valerie is a skilled orthopedic physical therapist. She has specialized in the treatment of the pelvic floor, treating the muscles, tendons, nerves and joints of the pelvis.

Valerie will treat both men and women who suffer from conditions of the pelvic floor. Some of these conditions are: acute and chronic pelvic pain, incontinence, SI Joint Dysfunction. She will also treat many other conditions which cause pain and dysfunction in the pelvic region such as painful intercourse, Interstitial Cystitis, vaginismus, vulvodynia, and dyspareunia.

Valerie also treats muscle and joint conditions relative to pregnancy such as: back pain, sciatica, rib pain, and pain from scar episiotomy/c-section scar tissue.

Valerie graduated from the University of Utah with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. She completed a pelvic rehabilitation internship, and has additional continuing education in the areas of incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain, non-relaxing pelvic floor conditions, post-surgical scarring, SI joint dysfunction, lumbopelvic instability, and others.

Valerie enjoys her profession, and genuinely cares for each of her patients, striving to provide individualized care with tools for self-management.

She is a member of the APTA's Section on Women's Health, the International Pelvic Pain Society, and the International Continence Society.
