In its latest updates, ProofHub announced the latest feature of subtasks to help users better define their work
Tasks in actual are a full project divided into several parts. Once everything is mentioned in a tasklist and people are assigned on each task, things take shape. But, the problem arises when a task has different components, which need to be taken care of. And, without any division or description of a task, it becomes a little confusing for the assigned people to deliver them with precision. This is one such scenario where subtasks prove to be of much importance. If tasks are further divided into subtasks, work will be communicated in a much better way, and its delivery will happen as required.
Say, you have created a project for a fashion store launch. In this project there are task lists for different activities namely, finalize a venue, inform the press, send invitations, decorate the store and so on. And, under each of this to-do lists there would be tasks related to them. Let's pick send invitations, under which there are to-do's like shortlist a design agency, send the design for printing, collect the printed cards, make a list of invitees and finally deliver the cards. But, all these categories are comprehensive in themselves, which further requires the need to divide them into subtasks.
But now with subtasks you can simply divide these to-do's, say shortlisting a design agency into further subtasks. The subtasks like find a good design agency, analyze their previous work, share shortlisted samples, review the design and finalize the invite can then be added under this. After that individuals or a group can be assigned each subtask and they can also be grouped under different labels.
This can also be used to define the steps to do any to-do. After adding a to-do in the task list, you can further define its execution into parts as subtasks. Say, if you have launched a new application and expect a blog entry from your content writing department, you can further divide it into subtasks to make the process more precise. The subtasks could be: understand and try the application, research and compare with our competitors, analyze customers expectations, find a unique selling point and submit the blog. This will communicate the work in a much better way so that the it is done in the desired manner.
"We always strive to offer as much functionality and ease to our users. After we extended the ability to add description to each to-do, our users were eagerly waiting for us to include the feature of subtasks. They wanted to keep their task section even more useful and organized. With this feature, we have strengthened our concept to be able to better plan, organize and deliver work. Tasks being the base of any project, are very important and on them depends the success or failure of any project. We have made the base even stronger now, by helping our users define their work more precisely so that there remains no scope of miscommunication" commented team ProofHub on the launch.
