UPW Conference To Focus On Pharmaceutical Water Treatment

ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma 2014 will be conducted June 3-4 in King of Prussia (greater Philadelpia). The 2-day conference will focus on key issues for pharmaceutical water treatment—Compendial Water Systems and Microbial Control.

Plans are underway for the 2014 ULTRAPURE WATER Pharma that will be June 3-4, in greater Philadelphia at the Valley Forge DoubleTree Hotel in King of Prussia. The two-day conference will feature technical presentations on pharmaceutical water.

Plans are for Day 1 of the conference to have presentations that focus on "Compendial Water Systems." Day 2 will focus on "Microbial Control in Purified Water Systems. Planned presentation topics will include:

1. Business Perspective on the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Industries
2. FDA View on Pharmaceutical Water System Validation
3. PDA's Perspective on Water Treatment for Parenteral Drugs
4. ISPE Perspective on Pharmaceutical Water Treatment Concerns
5. Updates to the ISPE's Guidelines Related to Pharmaceutical Water Treatment Systems
6. Roundtable Discussion

Conference co-moderators will be Mr. Igor Gorsky, a senior consultant with Concordia ValSource, and Mr. Joe Manfredi, president of GMP Systems Inc. Mr. Gorsky also is involved with the Parenteral Drug Association's Water Expert Group, and Mr. Manfredi is actively involved with the ISPE.

In addition to technical papers, the conference will also feature tabletop exhibits by leading water business suppliers and offer attendees the opportunity to network with others active in pharmaceutical water treatment.
