Upgrade To HD Virtual Rooms For Every Customer On VideoCentric’s ViPER Service

VideoCentric are upgrading every customer on their retiring ViPER managed service to their HD VideoCloud Virtual Room service - a higher quality, higher capacity & higher redundancy service with vastly increased flexibility, free of charge.

London (I-Newswire) March 5, 2013 - The UK’s leading video conferencing & collaboration integrator, VideoCentric, has announced that it will upgrade all customers using the old ViPER Video Conferencing Service to the new VideoCloud portfolio, without customers incurring any additional costs. The upgrade to VideoCloud High Definition Virtual Meeting Rooms, will be based upon software multipoint components from VideoCentric’s partnership with BlueJeans or upon service-grade hardware MCUs manufactured by Cisco Codian. The choice of service will depend on the extent to which the customer requires the addition of Microsoft Lync, Skype and Browser-based connectivity from Windows, Mac, Smartphone & iPad devices. Upgrades are also set to improve hands-free echo cancellation at the desktop.

VideoCentric’s ViPER Video Conferencing Service was launched in 2007 and was the first multipoint desktop video conferencing service that didn’t require users to download any software, whilst allowing access to the Virtual Meeting room for everyone, regardless of the video conferencing device being used. ViPER was based upon the RADVISION (an Avaya company) Scopia platform and has always been popular with customers, especially in the police, government & healthcare sector, by enabling secure ad-hoc meetings, whilst having the flexibility to instantly invite customers, suppliers, patients and specialists using a PC and Webcam via a web browser, all managed with award winning services from the UK’s most experienced and trusted video communications integrator.

“Recently we have started to see a lot of hype about bringing in PC and webcam users via a browser and we are happy to say we have been providing this service through our RADVISION partnership, to our customers for over 5 years now. Whilst most providers are just catching up with our innovations, we are already upgrading our customers to our new VideoCloud services which will provide more interoperability, better collaboration tools and higher flexibility going forwards”, says Emily Shimell, Communications Manager at VideoCentric Ltd.

The HD Virtual Room Service is just one of the 13 services currently offered within the VideoCloud Portfolio, which unlike most other providers, already offers pay-as-you-go and 3 month multipoint contracts, as well as ISDN, firewall traversal, SIP/H.323 transcoding etc as standalone services in their own rights. Interoperability and support is provided for mixed vendor environments including Cisco, Polycom, Microsoft, LifeSize and Avaya, and live demonstrations are always available in VideoCentric’s unique showroom as well as worldwide via VideoCloud via a single hyperlink click.
