(I-Newswire) November 17, 2009 - Recently released debut book “Ambition’s Curse” by the multi-talented Kishore Pillai, a UK based lecturer of Marketing at the Leeds University Business School is getting increasingly popular and is being appreciated by readers and critics in UK.

Although a work of fiction, Ambition’s Curse tells the story of the brutal murder of a young artist Nita who unfortunately is a victim of professional jealousy. By the look of its front cover, Ambition's Curse could be easily mistaken for a self-help book, but then the back cover reveals its "thriller" status.

Despite being a Marketing Lecturer, Kishore wrote a thriller book which is totally off track from his personal life and career. Kishore’s fantasy doesn’t end with his book itself, he wants to try his hands in all fields of entertainment and even plans to make a movie based on his book. Kishore is hopeful that his book will be a major success in India too.

Kishore had previously published a collection of poems (Plainspeak and other poems, Writers Workshop, Kolkata, 1996). While the newspaper “The Hindu” described the collection as "pleasant and provocative", “Deccan Herald” commented that, “Kishore can play a role in modern Indian literature". The book attracted favorable reviews.

Born and brought up in 1971, Kishore did his schooling from Kollam in Kerala. Kishore was awarded the National Talent Search scholarship in 1986. He secured fourth rank in state engineering entrance in 1988 and obtained BA in economics from the University of Kerala, securing second rank. Kishore did MBA from IIM Kolkata and worked as a corporate Executive with Shriram Group, IMRB, NFO-MBL (currently TNS India) and Arvind Brands Ltd., during the year 1994-2000. Kishore then left for the US in 2000 to pursue doctorate in marketing from Florida State University.
