UHY LLP Welcomes New Principal, James Buckley, to Expand Government Services Group

UHY LLP, a full‐service national public accounting with Michigan offices in Farmington Hills and Sterling Heights, recently announced that James Buckley has joined the firm as a Principal in its Farmington Hills office.

Farmington Hills (I-Newswire) August 24, 2012 - UHY LLP, a full‐service national public accounting with Michigan offices in Farmington Hills and Sterling Heights, recently announced that James Buckley has joined the firm as a Principal in its Farmington Hills office.

Buckley is a CPA who has over 25 years of experience providing professional services to governmental, public and private organizations. He will help build the practice as an active member of the firm’s national and local Government Services Group.

Prior to joining the firm, Buckley was a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) for 13 years where he serviced the firm’s governmental, not-for-profit and middle market clients. He served as the firm’s subject matter expert for the national government practice. While at PWC he was responsible for managing a team of professionals assigned to the Michigan Government Practice Group Participated in both external and internal peer reviews for 13 years Member of PWC global team that developed new training courses for first year senior associates. He is a US GAAP/GASB Expert and is actively involved in the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) as a financial statement reviewer for their Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting program.

Buckley also served as Controller for the City of Port Huron for four years. He also participated as an instructor for the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) specializing in presenting governmental auditing seminars Member of the Mayor of Detroit’s transition team to review select accounting processes and prepare a report of the team’s findings and recommendations.

Jim received his Master’s Degree in Finance and his Bachelors of Accounting from Walsh College.
