Two Hundred Sailors Will Compete In The European Fireball Championship 2012

Two hundred sailors will compete in the European Fireball Championship 2012 organized by the Yacht Club Bracciano East (Rome) between July 21 and July 27

Yacht Club Bracciano Est (Rome location) has been assigned to be the sailing club for the Fireball European Championships 2012 which will hold races during the week of July 21-27, 2012 and over one hundred crews confirmed their attendance to the European Fireball Championship 2012 rounding up to 200 participants this year. Forty-two are women and six will be all-women teams and thirty mixed teams. Among the total participants, forty already competed in the World and European Championship (Rome 2001) and some have kept for this upcoming event the same team formation. Yacht Club Bracciano Est was founded in 1973 and it is one of the sailing clubs of the IVth Zone FIV with the longer history in the sport of sailing having hosted many European and World Championships since 2001. As Armando Cattaneo, President of YCBE and Chairman of the organizing committee, mentioned earlier, this event will be international in nature, since the Bracciano lake will see several crews from different countries and the favorable location not only for the wind power but also for the historical
setting, will offer to the public an unforgettable experience which will attract many. The crews are composed by members of eleven countries: Belgium, France, Czech Republic, Ireland, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and Italy plus two crews from Canada and Namibia. The European Fireball Championship 2012 is under the patronage of CONI (Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano) which supports all the ideals and goals of best sportsmanship. The upcoming Championship is also sponsored by major companies like Carige Assicurazioni, Sperry Top Sider and last but not least, Dicofarm, an Italian company which has been in business for over thirty years distinguishing itself in R & D for childhood products.
