Online, July 2, 2013 (Newswire.com) - The Republic of Khakassia welcomed a republican national holiday "Tun Pairam". More than thirty thousand people - citizens of the Republic, participants and guests of III International Forum "Historico-Cultural Heritage as a Source of Socio-Cultural Development" - gathered at Sagay Valley in Askiz District of Khakassia.
The "Tun Pairam" Khakassian folk feast was revived 30 years ago, this year it consisted of nine holiday sites. Sagay Valley held theatrical performances, spectacular ceremonies, competitions and exhibitions of decorative and applied art. Concert performances presented the artists of Khakassia, Khakassian pop song contest, and the creative teams of ethno-cultural centers of native minorities of Russia.
In addition, there were held the "Alyp Hys" national beauty and the "KÓ±stigler"epic warrior contests and "Chiis pairamy" ("Table of Plenty") ethnic cuisine tasting. The participants of sport playground showed their strength, agility and endurance in the competition in national sports, "KÓ±res" wrestling and archery. Equestrian Competitions were the most spectacular.
"Tun Pairam" is a holiday that unites all the people of Khakassia. The feast of the "Great Milk" ("First Airan") allows to most vividly imagine the national culture of the native people of the region.
